Do I need previous estate agency experience to join? +
Experience is a bonus, but it isn't essential for every role. We've welcomed agents from sales backgrounds, customer service, lettings, and property investment. What we look for first is communication skills, drive, and integrity — the rest we can train.
How exactly does the commission split work? +
You're paid as a self-employed associate based on a transparent percentage of every fee you generate. The exact share depends on your experience, volume and the support package you choose. We'll walk you through real worked examples in your discovery meeting — no small print.
Will I have a fixed territory or postcodes? +
Yes. We agree a defined area with you so you can build genuine local presence and reputation without competing with other Xchange agents. As you grow, your patch can grow too.
Do I need to come into an office every day? +
No. You're free to work from anywhere — home, café, on the road, or from our Hartshill base when you fancy company. Many agents drop in for collaboration days; none are forced to clock in.
What costs are involved in joining? +
There's a small monthly contribution that covers your CRM, marketing tools, professional indemnity, accounting platform and ongoing training. We're upfront about every line item so you know exactly what you're paying for and why.
Can I focus on lettings, sales, or both? +
Both — or just one. Some agents specialise in lettings, others build sales-only books, and many run a hybrid pipeline. We'll help you shape the model that suits your strengths and your local market.
How quickly can I start earning? +
Most agents complete onboarding within 2–4 weeks. From there, leads start flowing as your agent page goes live and your area is announced. How fast you scale depends on you — but you'll have a launch plan to follow from day one.
